Equipment

Please see below for a full list of the equipment we use to conduct our scientific and analytical investigations.

Thermal

Every paranormal investigator's dream, a thermal imaging camera is used to detect the slightest fluctuations in service temperature. Ranging from $5,000 to $40,000+, these devices are truly amazing to work with.

PEAR

A truly amazing piece of technology, the P.E.A.R. recording program constantly records standard environmental conditions, translating them into binary code. Once recorded, the data is then translated into a waveform, showing whether or not the occurrences are mere chance or something intelligent.

Ovilus

The Ovilus device intercepts EMF signals, and converts them to audio, from an internal dictionary of over 2,000 words. Albeit debatable in its accuracy and quality, the Ovlius does produce very interesting results.

IR Cameras

Infrared cameras allow us to monitor our surroundings through a level of light that our naked eyes cannot see. They come in various IR light configurations, lines of resolution, and strengths (LUX). They range in costs anywhere from $60-$500.

DVR

Digital Video Recorders enable us to simultaneously monitor and record multiple cameras, wired throughout an investigation site. DVR's come in 4, 8, 16, and 32 channel capacities and most often house an internal hard drive, allowing for video storage. Standard models range from $200-$1000.

EMF

-Electromagnetic Field Meters allow us to look for natural and unnatural fluctuations in EMF energy in the surrounding areas. In theory, for an entity to manifest, it requires energy. These unexplained increases in energy are said to be the signs of a potential presence. EMF meters are also used to detect abnormally high readings from items such as breaker panels and poorly insulated wiring, which if exposed to long enough, can cause symptoms such as paranoia and hallucinations, often mistaken for a paranormal presence.

Voice Recorder

Digital Voice Recorders are used to capture EVP's, said to be the disembodied voices of spirits/residual energy. It is highly recommended to purchase a stero-recording voice recorder, as the EVP will only be as good as the quality of your recording.

Camera

The most common ghost hunting tools, digital and video cameras are used to capture light anomalies and other strange occurrences. Along with the night shot capabilities of a video camera, we often use IR illuminators, which increase the strength of the light being emitted.

Thermometer

Infrared Thermometers are used to detect unexplainable fluctuations in the surrounding air. As mentioned, for an entity to manifest, it can sometimes pull energy from the air, causing a temperature change.
