Smythe's Residence Investigation

Once the property of Vernon Parish's first District Judge, Nathan
M. Brey (whom was murdered on the property), the Smythe's
Property/Residence was quite an eventful investigation. The
property consist of an inhabited mobile home by Donnie & Judy
Smythe. Also on the lot is an unused home once owned by Donnie
and his deceased ex wife, who seems to be the most active of the
spirits that reside here, seeming to tease and taunt Judy. Lastly,
is the abandoned mobile home of Donnie's deceased aunt, who
passed away in the home.

Prior to the actual investigation, I had made several preliminary
visits, taking photos and taking sound recordings. It was
obvious after getting class A EVPs at 10am, this place was going
to be good! The group arrived for the investigation, set up the
equipment, and dispatched to their assigned areas.

Early into the night, Steve and I were sitting alone in the main
house. We sat back and relaxed, trying to pick up on anything.
We began to hear what sounded like muffled whispering coming
down the hallway. As we heard this, our feet began to feel the
vibrations of footsteps coming down the hallway, getting closer
and closer. At this time, I took a photograph (seen below), which
shows some type of shadowed obstruction in the middle of the
picture.

We then began monitoring the infrared cameras, which showed
a barrage of "orb" like shapes flying in very planned patterns,
not like the usual dust or insect. We began taking EMF readings
in Judy's bedroom, which according to her, is the most active
area. It wasn't long after we began asking questions that we
started getting very good EMF spikes. At one point, I actually
followed one around the room, leading me into Judy. Several of
us reported that when the EMF spikes would take place, we
would begin feeling light-headed and, at one point, got the
intense smell of cigar smoke! As you will see with our evidence,
especially EVPs, this place is quite active. We are planning a
return trip in the near future, this time accompanied by a
documentary film-maker, doing a film on deceased family
members and their residual affects on the living loved ones. We
will inform you of any happenings as they take place!

After the investigation, I made another visit, only this time I was
accompanied by a friend who is quite sensitive. He quickly
picked up on a female spirit in Judy's home. She posed no threat
and seemed to be there strictly for Judy's annoyance. The
second, was of a male figure picked up in the main house. This
one made himself quite scarce when we entered the home.
Finally, a very slight detection was made of a young girl in the
main home.

3. growl (753kb)- 3 times you will hear an unknown growl.

4. grunt (301kb)- listen after spirit is told "you are no longer living".

5. help (269kb)- listen after I ask it a question.

6. helpme (430kb)- a male whispering "help me".

7. mumble (226kb)- unknown voice.

8. outtahere (258kb)- very clear female voice saying "get that thing
outta here."

9. shhh (624kb)- you can here a "shhhh" sound.

10. unsure (398kb) I am no longer sure what this says. You be the
judge!!
